Bolt tightening inspection: "details" that cannot be ignored
12 Dec,2025
The excavator works under continuous severe vibration, and the connecting bolts may become loose. Loose bolts may at least cause abnormal noise and increased wear of components, or may cause serious safety accidents such as cracking of structural parts and falling off of components. For example, if the slewing bearing bolts become loose, the consequences will be disastrous.
A hierarchical inspection system should be established: the torque of the pin locking bolts, slewing support bolts, traveling motor fixing bolts, etc. of key stress-bearing parts such as buckets, booms, and sticks must be reviewed weekly or every 250 hours. Other general connection parts should also be inspected during regular maintenance.
Tightening inspection requires a qualified torque wrench and a standard bolt torque table. Be careful not to rely on the feeling of "too tight", as over-tightening may damage the threads. Taking the time to tighten the bolts of the system is a way to eliminate the greatest safety hazards at the minimum cost and add a "safety" to the integrity of the equipment structure.
